There’s more to a name than you think!
Tips for picking out a name, and the resulting domain for your business:
- Try to purchase a domain that most closely matches your name (i.e. www.stevemacdonald.com). If your name is not available, you can always add a middle initial.
- This allows your most important keyword phrase (your name) to be at the very front of every URL to every page on your new blog. This helps out tremendously with search engine optimization (SEO) around your name when people are searching for you online.
- The other name alternative for a domain is to some how communicate the brand promise to your very succinctly, i.e. www.TheRelocatorRealtor.com, www.NonToxicHouseKeeping.com, , www.FitForDancing.com, etc.
- A domain/name of your business should be something that in some way helps your target market niche in understanding the benefits of your brand and/or identifying your brand with YOU! This name should be consistent and carry through and be used across all your social media networks as much as possible.
